Role Purpose

The Culinary Team Leader is responsible for overseeing kitchen operations at Rocky Mountaineer, the premier luxury passenger rail service. Our mission is to craft exceptional culinary experiences for our guests as they journey through breathtaking landscapes, highlighting local flavors and dishes.

Key Responsibilities

Leading the Kitchen Team

  • Supervise and guide a team of three culinary professionals
  • Deliver high-quality, gourmet dishes
  • Ensure adherence to food standards and operational efficiency
  • Provide hands-on training and uphold quality control
  • Collaborate with onboard staff to resolve guest inquiries
  • Engage in waste management and sustainability practices

Food Preparation and Daily Operations

  • Thrive in a dynamic, compact kitchen setting
  • Respond to guest preferences and follow established recipes
  • Carry out daily food prep tasks and maintain accurate logs

Health and Safety Compliance

  • Adhere to cleaning protocols and routines
  • Maintain kitchen equipment and report any safety concerns

Qualifications

Education and Certifications

  • BC Food Safe certification is mandatory
  • Proficiency in the English language is required

Experience

  • At least three years of experience in culinary roles with supervisory responsibilities
  • Experience in inventory management and waste reduction strategies
