Position Overview
As the Pricing Strategy Lead at Irving Oil, you will oversee the management of pricing structures and commodity risk for both Residential and Commercial clientele across Eastern Canada and New England. Your role will involve daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual assessments to ensure competitive pricing aligned with market dynamics.
Key Responsibilities
- Foster strong partnerships with Supply and Sales teams to ensure pricing reflects supply constraints and product availability.
- Integrate cost understanding with sales retention and margin expectations to maintain a balance between customer retention and profitability.
- Identify areas for improvement, quantify potential benefits, and spearhead initiatives to capitalize on these opportunities.
- Guide and develop direct reports, ensuring they have clear performance objectives and receive ongoing coaching and feedback.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and internal policies.
- Lead the pricing team to align with financial and customer business goals.
- Assess the impact of pricing on margin, customer retention, and EBITDA.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, operations, and marketing.
- Adjust pricing strategies as necessary based on market analysis.
- Analyze customer pricing strategies and provide recommendations to support sales efforts.
Qualifications
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal abilities to motivate diverse personalities.
- Excellent organizational skills and the capability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong financial acumen and analytical skills, with advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Proven decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
Experience
- Post-secondary education, preferably in business-related fields.
- 5-10 years of experience in a business setting, encompassing finance, sales, or operations.
- 3-5 years in a leadership role.
