Position Overview:

6-month training contract leading to a long-term career as a Sun Life Advisor

The Advisor Trainee role offers a distinctive chance to become part of the Sun Life Prospr advisor team, operating from a local Sun Life District office. As a licensed advisor, your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering comprehensive life, health, and wealth solutions to both new and existing clients.
  • Allocating 50% of your time collaborating with the Prospr advisor team, reporting to the Manager, Prospr by Sun Life.
  • Spending the remaining 50% gaining insights into the Independent Contractor Advisor role, working alongside the Director of the local Sun Life District office.
  • Receiving essential product, technical, and sales training to excel in the advisor position.
  • Building and nurturing relationships with a designated group of existing Sun Life clients.

Licensing Requirements:

  • Active Life License (LLQP) is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting inbound and proactive outbound calls to arrange meetings with clients.
  • Facilitating face-to-face or virtual meetings to:
    • Provide ongoing client service as needed.
    • Identify any gaps in their current plans.
    • Offer trusted advice to help clients achieve their financial goals.
    • Collaborate with District leadership and resource teams to stay updated on product and regulatory changes.
    • Maintain good standing in registration and licensing.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree or 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in Mutual Fund and/or Insurance sales and service.
  • Strong knowledge and enthusiasm for retail insurance and investment products.
  • Self-motivated with a robust work ethic.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain client relationships.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capacity to inspire others to take action.
  • Business development acumen.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Mutual Fund License (MFDA).
  • CFP designation.
  • Experience in a blended or outbound Call Centre environment.
  • Knowledge of Sun Life Individual Insurance and Investment products.
  • Familiarity with client relationship management tools.
  • Ability to utilize digital tools for engaging client interactions.

Candidates must possess a post-graduation work permit.

Salary Range: 56,000
