About the RoleThe Occupational Health Nurse will be responsible for providing emergency services, healthcare, workplace rehabilitation, wellness programs, and worker education while promoting a healthy workplace at our Red Lake Operation.
Key Responsibilities:- Administer first aid and primary care to employees and contractors
- Manage occupational and non-occupational injury and illness claims, and administer modified work programs
- Follow up with injured workers to ensure safe and timely return to work
- Organize and provide worker health education and counseling services, including Employee Assistance Programs (EAP)
- Coordinate and deliver various workplace testing programs, biological monitoring, and periodic medical surveillance
- Administer drug and alcohol testing programs for employees and contractors
- Advocate for employees with supervisors, WSIB, insurance providers, or physicians as needed
- Deliver worker training programs, such as First Aid and CPR
- Liaise with outside health organizations as required
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee medical records
- Compile statistical reports as requested
- Maintain inventory of medical supplies and equipment
We are seeking a qualified Occupational Health Nurse with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and active RN designation (or diploma in Nursing with active RPN designation) and unrestricted license to practice in Ontario. Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) is preferred. The ideal candidate will have experience in occupational health, with a strong background in emergency treatment, claims management, and worker education.
