About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse to join our team at Coast Mental Health. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality psychiatric care to individuals with mental health challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive psychiatric assessments and develop individualized care plans to support clients in achieving their recovery goals.
  • Collaborate with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination and effective communication.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans, including pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy, to address clients' mental health needs.
  • Conduct regular assessments and evaluations to monitor clients' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Provide education and support to clients and their families on mental health management, coping strategies, and community resources.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss client progress, share knowledge, and develop strategies to address complex care needs.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in mental health care, including trauma-informed care, and incorporate this knowledge into your practice.
Requirements
  • Current practicing membership with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • At least three years of recent related experience in mental health and addiction, either in a hospital or community setting.
  • Ability to provide/obtain a valid First Aid Certificate and a valid Class 5 B.C. Driver's License.
  • Strong knowledge of nursing theory and practice within a client-centered, trauma-informed model of care and concurrent disorders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations and healthcare professionals.
