Job Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at Prince Rupert Regional Hospital. As a Registered Nurse in our Emergency Department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to individuals in need of emergency medical attention.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care to individuals in the Emergency Department, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients to identify their medical needs and develop effective treatment plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Monitor patients' conditions and adjust care plans as needed.
Requirements:
  • Current registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant.
  • Post-graduate certification in Emergency Nursing or Critical Care Nursing or a minimum of one year's recent related experience in an Emergency or ICU setting.
  • Current certification in CPR - Basic Rescuer level required. Current ACLS certification preferred.
  • All Specially Trained Nursing Skills (STN) related to the unit of employment must be completed within six (6) months of employment.

Prince Rupert Regional Hospital is a 24-bed facility that sees an average of 22,000 ER visits per year. It is a fully equipped facility with Medical Imaging, Laboratory, ICU, ER, and Maternity. Additional services such as Diabetes Education, Healthy Heart, and Rehabilitation, Podiatry, Orthopedics, and other visiting specialists are also available.
