Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Educational Counsellor to join our team at International Gurukool Education Services. As an Educational Counsellor, you will play a vital role in supporting students in their academic and personal journeys.

Key Responsibilities
  • Education and Experience: A college, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year, and 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field.
  • Attend Educational Conferences and Workshops: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in educational counselling by attending conferences and workshops.
  • Supervise Teaching Assistants: Provide guidance and support to teaching assistants to ensure they are equipped to provide high-quality support to students.
  • Counsel Students: Offer guidance and support to students on educational, career, and vocational issues, as well as personal and social issues.
  • Consult with Stakeholders: Collaborate with teachers, parents, administrators, and community agencies to provide comprehensive support to students.
  • Coordinate Counselling Services: Oversee the provision of counselling and information services to students, parents, and teachers.
  • Administer and Interpret Assessments: Administer and interpret standardized intelligence, aptitude, and interest tests to support student development.
  • Participate in Staff Meetings: Contribute to staff meetings, educational conferences, and workshops to stay informed and share knowledge.
  • Develop Guidance Programs: Create and implement guidance and counselling programs to support student success.
  • Recruit Graduating Students: Arrange for the recruitment of graduating students by employers.
  • Supervise Peer Counselling Programs: Oversee peer counselling programs to ensure they are effective and supportive.
  • Supervise Field Experience: Supervise field experience for graduate students in clinical and counselling areas.
  • Provide Academic Information: Visit colleges and secondary schools to provide academic information to prospective students, their parents, and educational institutions.
  • Deliver Presentations: Prepare and deliver presentations at conferences, workshops, and symposia to share knowledge and expertise.
