Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Academic Guidance Specialist to join our team at International Gurukool Education Services. As an Academic Guidance Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting students in their academic and personal journeys.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend educational conferences and workshops to stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in academic guidance.
  • Supervise teaching assistants and provide guidance on their roles and responsibilities.
  • Counsel students on educational, career, and vocational issues, as well as personal and social concerns.
  • Consult with teachers, parents, administrators, and community agencies to ensure a collaborative approach to student support.
  • Coordinate the provision of counselling and information services to students, parents, and teachers.
  • Administer and interpret standardized intelligence, aptitude, and interest tests to inform student guidance.
  • Participate in staff meetings, educational conferences, and workshops to stay connected with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Develop guidance and counselling programs that meet the diverse needs of our students.
  • Arrange for recruitment of graduating students by employers, promoting career opportunities and transitions.
  • Supervise peer counselling programs and field experience for graduate students in clinical and counselling areas.
  • Visit colleges and secondary schools to provide academic information to prospective students, their parents, and educational institutions.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations at conferences, workshops, and symposia to share expertise and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year.

Work Environment:

  • Work Language: English.
  • Hours: 35 hours per week.
