Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Educational Counsellor to join our team at International Gurukool Education Services. As an Educational Counsellor, you will play a vital role in supporting students in their academic and personal journeys.

Key Responsibilities
  • Education and Experience: A non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year, and 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field.
  • Attend Conferences and Workshops: Participate in educational conferences and workshops to stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in educational counselling.
  • Supervise Teaching Assistants: Supervise and mentor teaching assistants to ensure they are providing high-quality support to students.
  • Counsel Students: Provide guidance and support to students on academic, career, and personal issues, helping them to make informed decisions about their future.
  • Consult with Stakeholders: Collaborate with teachers, parents, administrators, and community agencies to ensure a comprehensive support system for students.
  • Coordinate Counselling Services: Oversee the provision of counselling and information services to students, parents, and teachers, ensuring that all needs are met.
  • Administer and Interpret Tests: Administer and interpret standardized intelligence, aptitude, and interest tests to help students identify their strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Participate in Staff Meetings: Attend staff meetings and contribute to discussions on educational initiatives and best practices.
  • Develop Guidance Programs: Design and implement guidance and counselling programs that cater to the diverse needs of students.
  • Recruit Graduating Students: Arrange for the recruitment of graduating students by employers, helping them to transition into the workforce.
  • Supervise Peer Counselling: Supervise peer counselling programs, ensuring that students are receiving the support they need.
  • Supervise Field Experience: Supervise field experience for graduate students in clinical and counselling areas, providing them with hands-on experience.
  • Provide Academic Information: Visit colleges and secondary schools to provide academic information to prospective students, their parents, and educational institutions.
  • Prepare Presentations: Prepare and deliver presentations at conferences, workshops, and symposia, sharing knowledge and expertise with colleagues and stakeholders.
