About the Role

As a key member of our Construction & Infrastructure team at Aon Reed Stenhouse in Toronto, ON, you will play a vital role in empowering results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions. Reporting directly to the Manager of the Construction Services Group and/or the Surety Team Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing clients' daily bonding needs, facilitating information exchange between clients and underwriters, and ensuring timely approvals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage bond requests, facilitate information exchange, and secure timely approvals.
  • Administer bond issuance, modifications, renewals, and cancellations, as well as invoicing, collections, file, and database management.
  • Provide assistance to Accounts Executives as needed.
  • Maintain effective communication with Account Executives, clients, and underwriters to ensure high-level customer service.
  • Perform job duties with high accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Develop best practices for file and database management of client information and documentation.
  • Represent Aon at industry functions to foster relationships with clients, prospects, and underwriters.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with the underwriting community for the benefit of clients.
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of surety market conditions on a macro and micro level.
  • Develop and deliver surety and industry-related presentations and seminars to clients and prospect audiences.
  • Identify client risk exposure and develop innovative solutions to support business growth.
  • Assist in brokering surety programs for new prospects, including compilation of submissions, matching surety to client, financial analysis, capacity analysis, character analysis, and development of brokering strategies.
  • Plan ahead, problem-solve, and anticipate, report, and help resolve problems that occur.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating and sharing the importance of best practice with all lines of business.

Requirements
  • Minimum 7 years of Surety experience is required.
  • Accounting experience or fundamental knowledge is required.
  • Experience working in a professional accounting environment would be beneficial.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, both verbally and written.
  • Client-focused and proven relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a key member of a team and independently with minimum supervision.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, refined organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task.
  • Proven ability to prioritize competing requirements and deadlines under pressure.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with the Microsoft Office Package.
  • Post-secondary degree with a specialization in accounting or a combination of education and equivalent years of industry experience.
  • RIBO License is required.
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, including insurance courses and certifications.
