Counsellor Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Counsellor to join our team at the University of Northern British Columbia. As a Counsellor, you will provide confidential support and assistance to clients, ranging from drop-in individual and/or group counselling, crisis appointments, and participating in community development and capacity building with the UNBC student population.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, develop, coordinate, and document effective counselling services
- Assist students in the management of intellectual, spiritual, cultural, and personal development
- Provide personal and emergency support to students
- Consult with other members of the university and professionals in the larger community
- Develop and maintain a current awareness of available resources to support and assist clients
- Display continuous engagement, learning, and reflection on the needs of a diverse student population
- Provide services that are responsive and sensitive to the needs of specific student populations
- Develop and deliver programs, presentations, workshops, web content, and other educational materials
- Keep timely and accurate records in accordance with professional guidelines, standards, and applicable privacy legislation or regulations
- Graduate degree in the social sciences, preferably in Educational Counselling, Social Work, Clinical Counselling, or Clinical Psychology
- Minimum of three years to five years of clinical experience, preferably in a post-secondary counselling setting
- Active registration with the professional governing body appropriate to your qualifications or as required by statute
- Clear Criminal Record Check
