About the Role

McKeil Marine Limited is seeking a highly skilled Third Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and economical operation of all vessel machinery and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reporting and Compliance: Report to the Chief Engineer and ensure compliance with regulatory and class requirements.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform troubleshooting, problem-solving, and preventative and corrective maintenance to prevent downtime and ensure efficient vessel operations.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor bunkers, lubricants, and maintain spare parts and inventory.
  • Logbook Management: Review and sign off the Engine Room Logbook, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Plan Maintenance System: Maintain and update the Plan Maintenance System in accordance with company policies.
  • Environmental Protection: Understand and adhere to pollution regulations and the company's objectives regarding environmental protection.
Requirements
  • Certifications: Hold a valid Transport Canada Certificate of Competency, valid seafarer's medical, and STCW 95 certification.
  • Experience: Previous ship experience required, with a strong sense of responsibility and pride in overall condition of machinery.
  • Skills: Strong communication and teamwork skills, self-starter, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
