School Bus Operator

The School Bus Driver is a critical role that requires a safe and responsible individual to transport students to and from school, ensuring a secure environment at all times. This position involves operating a school bus, performing routine maintenance, and adhering to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities- Operate a school bus, transporting students to and from school and on field trips, while maintaining a safe and secure environment.
- Conduct regular vehicle inspections to ensure proper maintenance and identify any necessary repairs.
- Perform safety checks prior to each trip to guarantee the vehicle is in good working order.
- Complete tasks to ensure safe and continuous bus operation, including cleaning and refueling.
- Inform students of safety rules and supervise/enforce rules during trips.
- Completion of specialized bus driver training.
- Valid Class 2 driver's license with air brake endorsement.
- Clean driver's abstract.
- Valid CPR and First Aid certificate.
- Experience in the transportation industry is an asset.
- Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Record Check clearance required.
- Hourly wage starting at $25 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
- Favorable benefits package and pension plan.
- Shifts typically 7:00 - 9:00 am and 2:30 - 4:30 pm on school days, averaging 4 hours per day/20 hours per week.
- Opportunity for additional hours for field trip coverage.
