Terminal Leader Job Description

The Terminal Leader plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our terminal. This position requires a strong leader who can effectively manage and coordinate various aspects of terminal operations, including maintenance, security, and logistics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Terminal Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance of the terminal, including coordinating with contractors, ensuring timely repairs, and managing budgets.
  • Security and Safety: Maintain a high level of security and safety within the terminal, supporting our commitment to Birds Eye security.
  • Logistics and Coordination: Coordinate with Maintenance Coordinators, Dock Coordinators, Shop Manager, and Dock Manager to ensure seamless operations.
  • Yard and Office Maintenance: Support yard maintenance, including garbage cleanup, yard lighting, gate maintenance, and troubleshooting, as well as office and building maintenance.
  • Shunt Team Management: Schedule and lead the Shunt team to ensure efficient operations.
  • Vendor Management: Work with vendors to ensure safe and cost-effective operations.
  • Inspections and Repairs: Participate in and make necessary repairs from all inspections.
Requirements:
  • Manual Labor: Ability to perform manual labor.
  • Organizational Skills: Good organizational skills.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work in a multi-task environment and adapt to changing situations.
  • Independence: Adaptable and able to work independently.
  • Training and Certification: Previous forklift training and First Aid certification are considered assets.
