About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Sun Sushi Inc. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dining room.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Service
    • Assist in the preparation and presentation of food items, including portioning and wrapping foods.
    • Prepare, heat, and finish simple food items to meet customer demands.
  • Cleaning and Sanitation
    • Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, work surfaces, and storage areas to maintain a high level of hygiene.
    • Ensure all kitchen areas are clean and organized, including refrigerators, freezers, and cupboards.
  • Supply Management
    • Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas.
    • Replenish condiments and other supplies at tables and serving areas as needed.
  • Waste Management
    • Remove kitchen garbage and trash, and ensure all waste is disposed of properly.
  • General Kitchen Duties
    • Assist in setting tables, clearing and cleaning tables, trays, and chairs.
    • Bring clean dishes, flatware, and other items to serving areas.
    • Sharpen kitchen knives and maintain kitchen equipment.
    • Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors to maintain a clean and safe environment.
    Requirements
    • Education
      • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
    • Experience
      • 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a similar role.
    • Language
      • Fluency in English.
    Working Conditions

This is a temporary position, working 35 hours per week. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment and maintain a high level of productivity and attention to detail.
