About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Infrastructure Engineer to join our team at Intact Financial Corporation. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for the evolution, support, and governance of our worldwide network and its security.

The criticality of our network infrastructure and the accelerating growth of our systems lead to even more complex challenges. You will drive the advancement, performance, and stability of our infrastructure and its associated components with a strong focus on automation.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with peers to ensure smooth operation of the network infrastructure
  • Coordinate with vendors to resolve technical problems with network equipment and software
  • Assess and address vulnerabilities regarding network equipment with vendor-recommended solutions
  • Provide high-quality internal and external customer service surrounding the company values
  • Implement and support LAN, WAN, Switching/Routing, data center infrastructure, including Cisco ACI, Next-Gen firewalls (ideally Palo Alto), including IPS, DDoS infrastructure, etc.
  • Ensure all network infrastructure engineering patterns are appropriately designed to meet our SLA requirements
  • Responsible for writing and reviewing change requests as part of the change management process
  • Monitor system performance and implement performance optimization
  • Participate in the documentation processes, including network diagrams, staff contacts, vendor contacts, utilization of monitoring/resource/inventory management tools
  • Collaborate with managers to develop standards in line with the company guidelines and monitor those standards
  • Assist with the resolution of escalated issues and actively participate in problem management activities
  • As a member of the network & security operations team, participate in an on-call support rotation to ensure 24x7x365 coverage for critical core and customer infrastructure
  • Overtime in the event of emergencies is required

Required Skills

  • Degree or diploma in networking or technology
  • 1 year of experience in IP-based environments
  • Junior hands-on experience with network hardware, software, LAN/WAN, and data center infrastructures and connectivity
  • Good understanding of the TCP/IP protocol, specifically relating to the routing of IP packets (BGP, EIGRP, MPLS)
  • Junior-level knowledge of network administration, architecture, and engineering in mission-critical environments
  • For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required, considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country
  • No Canadian work experience required, however, must be eligible to work in Canada

  • Experience with Cisco ISE, automation (like Ansible)
