About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Network Infrastructure Engineer to join our team at Intact Financial Corporation. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our global network infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless operation of our network infrastructure
- Coordinate with vendors to resolve technical issues with network equipment and software
- Assess and address vulnerabilities in network equipment using vendor-recommended solutions
- Provide exceptional internal and external customer service, aligning with our company values
- Implement and support LAN, WAN, switching/routing, and data center infrastructure, including Cisco ACI and Next-Gen firewalls
- Ensure all network infrastructure engineering patterns meet our SLA requirements
- Responsible for writing and reviewing change requests as part of our change management process
- Monitor system performance and implement performance optimization
- Participate in documentation processes, including network diagrams, staff contacts, and vendor contacts
- Collaborate with managers to develop standards aligned with company guidelines and monitor those standards
- Assist with resolving escalated issues and actively participate in problem management activities
- As a member of our network and security operations team, participate in an on-call support rotation to ensure 24x7x coverage for critical core and customer infrastructure
Requirements
- Degree or diploma in Networking or Technology
- 1 year of experience in IP-based environments
- Junior hands-on experience with network hardware, software, LAN/WAN, and data center infrastructures and connectivity
- Good understanding of the TCP/IP protocol, specifically relating to the routing of IP packets (BGP, EIGRP, MPLS)
- Junior-level knowledge of network administration, architecture, and engineering in mission-critical environments
- For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required due to the need to interact regularly with English-speaking colleagues across the country
- No Canadian work experience is required, but candidates must be eligible to work in Canada

- Knowledge of a wide variety of network security equipment and technologies
- Experience with Cisco ISE and automation tools like Ansible
