Associate Teacher, Junior School (Kindergarten - Grade 7)

Full-time Fixed-term Position

We are seeking a full-time Associate Teacher for a one-year fixed-term role, with the potential for extension. The ideal candidate will become part of a vibrant and innovative educational community focused on personal excellence, holistic child development, and overall well-being. Experience teaching in a dynamic, play-based kindergarten program, primary classrooms emphasizing emergent literacy and numeracy, project-based learning, or a tailored middle school curriculum designed for the unique developmental stages of preadolescent girls is highly valued.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide coverage for teachers from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 7, including specialist subjects such as French, Art, PE, and Music as needed.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers on curriculum planning, differentiated instruction, and assessment strategies.
  • Deliver personalized instruction and learning support tailored to individual student needs.
  • Supervise students during non-instructional periods.
  • Participate in co-curricular activities and clubs each term, including choir, debating, cooking, public speaking, coding, and musical theater.
  • Engage in field trips, outdoor education, service projects, leadership development, and athletic activities.

Requirements/ Qualifications:

  • B.C. Ministry of Education Certificate or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Commitment to holistic child education.
