About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Development to join our team at ROME GROUP. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support our mission and goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a strategic fundraising plan to achieve annual operating goals and support long-term sustainability.
  • Build and maintain relationships with major donors, foundations, and corporate partners to secure significant funding for our organization.
  • Manage and oversee all aspects of fundraising, including events, grants, and individual giving.
  • Collaborate with our Executive Director and Artistic Director to develop and implement a comprehensive development strategy that aligns with our organizational goals.
  • Develop and maintain a portfolio of major donors and prospects, with a focus on identifying and cultivating new relationships.
  • Manage and analyze data to inform fundraising strategies and ensure effective use of resources.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive donor recognition and stewardship plan to ensure that donors feel valued and appreciated.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of development leadership experience, with a proven track record of successfully closing major gifts and exceeding contributed income goals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds and inspire others with our mission.
  • Strong planning, strategy, financial, budgeting, and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Competent with technology, including Google Suite, cloud storage, and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to travel throughout the area and work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion, with a passion for contemporary dance and knowledge of the St. Louis arts community.
