About the Role:
BELFOR Restoration is seeking a skilled Water/Flood Technician to join our team. As a key member of our emergency response and restoration team, you will be responsible for ensuring insurance company and customer goals are met through water remediation procedures in accordance with IICRCS-500 Standard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide emergency response and restoration services, including water pumping and extraction, mold remediation, and debris disposal.
- Conduct moisture mapping and temperature, relative humidity, and moisture content readings to assess affected areas.
- Operate equipment, including drying equipment, carpet cleaning machines, and polyethylene enclosures.
- Participate in vehicle safety and maintenance inspections and ensure vehicles are cleaned and restocked at the end of each shift.
- Comply with all BELFOR policies and procedures, as well as legislative requirements.
Requirements:
- IICRC certification for Water Restoration Technician (WRT) required.
- IICRC certification for Applied Microbial Remediation Technician (AMRT) an asset.
- Previous construction, restoration, or insurance experience considered an asset.
- Familiarity with chemical products, including use, disposal, and Safety Data Sheets.
- Comprehensive understanding of customer service principles and practices.
- Eligible to operate a motor vehicle per BELFOR's vehicle policy.
- Ability to work within a team or independently as needed.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-driven to achieve goals and meet deadlines.
- Proven ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Attend all BELFOR-sponsored training courses.
- Basic computer and/or tablet/iPad experience.
- Willing to work evenings, on call, and weekends when requested.
- Periodic travel may be required.
- Criminal Record Check.
Physical Demands:
- Frequent lifting from 5-40 lbs, unassisted (from 35-65% of the time).
- Occasional lifting from 41 lbs +, assisted (up to 50% of the time).
- Access and mobility in tight spaces.
- Fit Testing – half and full face mask as needed, annual certification required.
- Working at Heights - over 5 feet, periodically.
- Sustained periods of standing, sitting, walking, bending, and kneeling.
