This position is part of the centralized Rehabilitation and Allied Health Program, supporting patients in the Critical Care team, General Systems ICU, and Burns service area. Job Summary:

As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide evidence-informed services, focusing on occupational performance to meet individual, group, or community needs. You will engage clients, families, and healthcare teams to enable meaningful occupations, including self-care, productivity, and leisure. You will support clients to achieve optimum functional abilities and independence, considering their cognitive, affective, spiritual, and physical strengths and limitations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive services, including triage, screening, consultation, assessment, diagnosis, collaborative goal setting, treatment, prevention, self-management, education, case management, referral, transition support, and collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with clients and families to determine, implement, and evaluate rehabilitation plans.
  • Participate in interprofessional teams to build awareness, enrich support, and engage in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to quality improvement and professional community, participating in peer mentoring and supervising students.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program.
  • Registration with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in critical care, grafts, and wound care.
  • Experience in trauma care, splinting, and pressure injury management.
  • Recent acute care experience in adults.
