Location: Concord, ON

Role Overview:
Reporting to the Controller, the Financial Analyst will assist the business in preparing and compiling financial reports, presentations, and analyses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compile and prepare monthly reconciliations, reports, and presentations.
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports and presentations, supporting management with financial analyses as needed.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting related to the Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flows.
  • Support month-end activities to ensure timely closing of accounting periods.
  • Conduct financial analysis of monthly results, providing commentary on variances against forecasts, budgets, and prior year performance.
  • Assist in budgeting concerning financial indicators, conducting qualitative and quantitative analyses of budgets, forecasts, actual results, and ad-hoc projects to aid management's review and decision-making.
  • Gather and reconcile fixed and mobile asset counts.
  • Review routine and complex business transactions to identify relevant accounting and reporting requirements.
  • Prepare necessary planning and budgeting reports for submission to Corporate.
  • Maintain positive interactions with the Corporate Finance Team.
  • Perform other ad-hoc duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a degree with a focus on accounting or business administration.
  • Enrolled or interested in the CPA program.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to manage large data sets, demonstrating critical thinking in producing various analyses and tables, as well as developing charts and graphs in both Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, with proven knowledge of financial analysis, variance analysis, and forecasting.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and self-review capabilities.
  • Ability to adapt to diverse deliverables and analyses, demonstrating logical reasoning.
  • Strong time management skills, capable of performing under pressure in a fast-paced environment with ad-hoc deliverables.
  • Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to learn and engage in various ad-hoc projects and evolving reporting needs.
  • Previous experience in construction and manufacturing is considered an asset.
