Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Inspection Specialist to join our team at BWX Technologies, Inc.

This is a challenging role that requires extensive site work and travel, up to 75%. Field projects will involve shift work and extended hours.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support site pre-deployment activities with hands-on assistance.
  • Execute site work in accordance with established procedures.
  • Perform or oversee Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) tasks in the field.
  • Supervise work groups to complete specific site tasks.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Assemble, test, and refurbish equipment prior to site deployment.
  • Verify and validate equipment and procedures prior to site deployment.
  • Assist in training and prepare or review procedures.
  • Ensure site work is executed in accordance with procedures, inspection plans, and safety requirements.
  • Provide technical support for equipment setup, operation, and troubleshooting.
  • Interface with customers, site inspectors, and vendors.
  • Prepare site status reports and oversee the work of tradespersons.
  • Maintain equipment and perform calibrations.
  • Develop processes and procedures.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, professionalism, and customer service attitude.
  • Enforce and abide by safe operation and personal safety requirements.
  • Mentor and train coworkers in safe work practices, technical skills, and company policies.
  • Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by management.
Requirements:
  • Diploma in an electrical, mechanical, or NDE discipline or equivalent related experience.
  • Technician Levels: Qualifications (NDE) and equivalent experience.
  • Ability to perform a wide variety of tasks and respond to short notice work assignments.
  • Knowledge of Industry Codes (ASME).
  • Exhibits honesty, discretion, and sound judgment.
  • Knowledge of NDT equipment and ability to effectively perform assigned NDT inspections.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service.
  • Maintains a positive outlook and rebounds quickly from frustrations.
  • Willing to work with others, collaborating and compromising where necessary.
