With over 70 years of experience, the company stands as the largest scrap metal recycling facility in Atlantic Canada, primarily operating in Halifax. The firm focuses on the acquisition and processing of both ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metals.

Position Overview

We are in search of a detail-oriented and proactive individual who thrives in a dynamic office setting. The ideal candidate should demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, effective communication abilities, and a commitment to meeting deadlines. This role will report directly to the VP of Finance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform reconciliations of accounts and general ledgers
  • Assist with entries related to cash management
  • Provide support for various accounting functions
  • Process accounts payable entries
  • Handle accounts receivable entries
  • Manage administrative tasks including reports, data entry, and filing

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience in reconciling general ledgers is advantageous
  • Familiarity with the full accounting cycle is beneficial
  • Background in accounts receivable and payable roles
  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel
  • Completion of an Accounting diploma or certification, or equivalent experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with computer literacy

Work Schedule

This position operates Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
