Postdoctoral Fellowship in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Toronto

The University of Toronto is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the Eric and Wendy Schmidt AI in Science Postdoctoral Fellowship. This initiative is tailored for candidates holding a PhD in natural sciences or engineering who are keen on incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) into their research endeavors. The fellowship is intended to promote innovative uses of AI across diverse disciplines and to cultivate a network of interdisciplinary pioneers.

Applicants are expected to demonstrate a strong command of their research area and an eagerness to adopt AI techniques to elevate their work. Previous experience with AI is not a prerequisite. Selected fellows will benefit from financial backing for their research activities along with training in AI and associated computational competencies.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Proven excellence and leadership within the research field
  • Demonstrated potential for success in their respective disciplines
  • Strong collaborative skills with supervisors and within the research community
  • Capability to incorporate AI research methodologies into their projects
  • Possession of a PhD in a natural sciences or engineering discipline
  • Supervision by a faculty member proficient in AI
