- Conduct thorough business case analyses, profitability assessments, and minimum production threshold evaluations in collaboration with the product development team.
- Develop product specifications for existing and new products, ensuring they meet customer needs and market expectations.
- Establish strategies for discontinuing non-performing products, minimizing losses and optimizing product portfolios.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage the company's product development plan, ensuring timely and cost-effective product launches.
- Develop product assortment proposals for major customers, working closely with sales teams to drive revenue growth.
- Conduct regular reviews of product development projects, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Maintain close working relationships with sales, R&D, and marketing teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and open communication.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of common tools for product management, including presentation templates, BOM breakdowns, and project management systems.
- Participate in trade shows, exhibitions, and commercial events, representing the company and promoting its products.
- Support marketing teams in the development of sales tools and merchandising materials, ensuring consistency and effectiveness across all channels.
- Participate in sales force product training, educating teams on new products and competitor offerings.
Marketing Research
- Conduct market research and gather general market information, including trends, related products, and competitor activity.
- Research and gather information on competitors, including products, prices, promotional strategies, and distribution networks.
- Evaluate the company's market share, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Maintain an in-store audit program, monitoring product placement, pricing, and promotional activities.
- Gather information and trends on various market segments and sales channels, informing product development and marketing strategies.
- Collect product development ideas from customers, sales teams, and other stakeholders, ensuring a continuous flow of innovative ideas.
Requirements
- 4-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the outdoor industry.
- University degree in marketing, administration, or a related field.
- Knowledge of large chain operations and experience with consumer durables.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with the Stage-Gate process is an asset.
- Bilingual, with excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- Passionate about outdoor activities and committed to delivering exceptional customer experiences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information.
- Proactive and curious, with a willingness to learn and adapt to changing market conditions.
