Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Metal Fabrication Labourer to join our team at Weldwork Fabricators Ltd. o/a Weldwork Fabricators. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for assisting in the fabrication of metal products, operating metal cleaning equipment, and performing various tasks to ensure the highest quality of our products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in Metal Fabrication: Assist structural steel and platework fitters, sheet metal workers, metal machine operators, or other metal workers in the fabrication of metal products.
  • Operate Metal Cleaning Equipment: Operate metal cleaning equipment to remove excess welds, rust, scale, and other materials from surfaces of metal products.
  • Sort and Organize Materials: Sort metal sheets and parts, scrap metal, and other materials to ensure efficient production.
  • Perform Various Tasks: Perform various tasks such as grinding or chipping excess metal from metal products using hand tools, loading and unloading vehicles, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Physical Demands: Standing for extended periods, repetitive tasks, attention to detail, and ability to lift up to 9 kg (20 lbs).
  • Equipment and Machinery Experience: Experience with dolly, lifting device, hand tools, and other equipment.
  • Personal Suitability: Dependability, excellent oral communication, flexibility, reliability, and team player.
Working Conditions
  • Work Environment: Dusty, noisy, and at heights.
  • Work Schedule: 44 hours per week.
