About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transformational Change Leader to join our team as the Head of Delivery Excellence. This is a pivotal role that will drive transformational change initiatives within our organization, ensuring that our operations remain agile, efficient, and adaptable to evolving market dynamics and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Initiative Management:
    • Oversee and guide strategic initiatives by providing subject matter expertise with a view to successful project execution
    • Escalate roadblocks to senior management as required
    • Participate as required in business unit sponsored projects that impact our operations
    • Coordinate, facilitate or participate in the development of operational procedures for new businesses and products
    • Identify process improvement / reengineering opportunities through streamlining, simplification, elimination of redundancies/overlaps, improved capacity utilization, automation, outsourcing, standardization, etc.
    • Lead / conduct functional reviews primarily focused on productivity improvements as required by individual projects or as requested by senior management
    • Ensure effective execution of analysis and requirements gathering by team members
    • Assist with Planning and budgeting for Change Delivery group involvement in initiatives
    • Provide input to Business Architecture decisions and process
  • Management of project resources:
    • Develop and mentor a high-performing team capable of driving change initiatives and delivering tangible results
    • Manage a global Change Delivery team aligned with the various operational pillars (Settlements and Clearing Services, Client and Data Management, Market Business Services, Funding and Lending, Regulatory and Risk)
    • Add talented PM's and BA's with relevant SME expertise to the team as project demand dictates, maintaining appropriate mix of FTE and contractors
    • Manage capacity of critical skill sets in order to meet departmental objectives
    • Develop skills and competencies of staff by utilizing training programs pertaining to requirements gathering, use case preparation, UAT activities and the RBC Project Management Framework
    • Assign staff to initiatives
    • Provide direction to staff
    • Represent Change Delivery in joint operational / functional committees
    • Ensure monthly recovery of staff time via MIS or similar tools
  • Relationship Management:
    • Partner with Heads of all operational pillars and leadership team to ensure successful execution of portfolio
    • In conjunction with senior management, liaise with businesses on operational initiatives and BU initiatives that impact our operations
  • Portfolio & Change Delivery:
    • Develop and articulate a comprehensive strategy for change delivery in alignment with the overall business objectives and market trends
    • Evolve and facilitate our work intake, demand management and work prioritization process
    • Collaborate closely with senior management, technology teams, operations staff, and external partners to gain buy-in and support for change initiatives that will enable our strategic goals and transformation objectives
    • Evolve and facilitate our strategic initiative status reporting
    • Create and maintain portfolio metrics supported by dashboard reporting
    • Establish, implement, and maintain enterprise project management methodologies
    • Provide portfolio management guidance and support to operational sponsors, leaders, people managers and other team members
    • Coach and prepare individual sponsors/leaders to lead change, and facilitate alignment of transformational/program objectives among the leaders
    • Lead the creation of change plans and guide resources in work activities to achieve required results
    Requirements
    • Proven people leadership & development skills; ability to work effectively in a project team environment, demonstrated facilitation and leadership skills, strong listening and interview skills
    • Ability to work in a federated type of environment
    • Strong innovative, problem-solving and analytical skills; a self-starter capable of functioning in an autonomous manner
    • Good organizational awareness of various operational Functional units.
    • Knowledge of process and continuous improvement concepts and techniques
    • Capacity and desire to learn and absorb new methodologies and techniques
    • Previous experience in management positions desirable
    • Corporate Governance, Operations and Technology background
