Position Overview

As a Retail Cashier at YUMMY PIZZA AND DONAIR, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service while efficiently managing sales transactions. Your responsibilities will include operating the cash register and ensuring a smooth checkout experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate the cash register and process various payment methods including cash, cheques, and credit/debit cards.
  • Scan items and tabulate total payments for goods or services.
  • Receive payments and reconcile daily transactions with total sales.
  • Engage in suggestive selling to enhance customer experience.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the counter area and stock shelves as needed.
  • Greet customers warmly and assist with reservations or take-out orders.
  • Provide assistance to customers during self-checkout.
  • Monitor entrances and exits, ensuring proof of payment when necessary.
  • Participate in promotional activities to drive sales.
  • Verify customer age for the sale of restricted items.
Technical Skills

Familiarity with electronic cash registers and price scanners is essential.

Physical Requirements

This role is physically demanding and requires:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capability to stand for extended periods and handle heavy loads.
  • Flexibility to bend, crouch, and kneel as necessary.
