Job Summary:

The Salvation Army is seeking a Part Time Janitor to join our team. As a Janitor, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure a clean and safe environment
  • Operate industrial cleaning equipment and tools
  • Participate in authorized seminars and training sessions as requested
  • Represent The Salvation Army in a professional manner

Working Conditions:

  • Permanent part-time positions
  • Hours of work: Saturday and Sunday from 8am-4:30pm with an unpaid meal break
  • May be required to lift more than 30 pounds
  • May be exposed to disagreeable conditions, including odors, isolation, and monotony

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Public School and/or High School Graduate
  • Alternative level of education and experience may be acceptable

Experience and Knowledge:

  • More than three months but less than one year of prior related experience, including life skills and general familiarity with cleaning and maintenance procedures

Skills and Capabilities:

  • Ability to undergo applicable screening and background checks successfully
  • Ability and willingness to develop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada
