Job Summary

Farm Boy is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Janitorial Assistant to join our team. As a Janitorial Assistant, you will play a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our retail store, ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service and support to our customers, ensuring a high-quality shopping experience.
  • Utilize Farm Boy's Service Standards to welcome, greet, and offer assistance to customers as needed.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties, including sweeping, mopping, and dusting, to maintain a clean and safe store environment.
  • Comply with all corporate policies, particularly those related to Health and Safety, Food Safety, and equipment use.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures and provide support to other team members as required.
  • May be asked to undertake other related duties on a periodic basis.

Requirements

  • Superior customer service, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Typically requires 1 to 2 years of experience in a related industry.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, maintaining high standards for quality, attention to detail, and cleanliness.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, with clear and effective communication style, both written and oral.
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Fluency in English and French is considered an asset.

Work Environment

  • Unavoidable exposure to potentially hazardous or unpleasant environmental elements, such as noise, dirt, dust, and vibration.
  • Required to adapt to temperature changes on occasion (working on the retail floor, in coolers, freezers, and outside).
  • Providing service to multiple people or departments, working under multiple simultaneous deadlines.
  • May be required to wear protective clothing or equipment.
  • Required to lift, carry, or handle heavy objects.
