Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Janitorial Assistant. In this role, you will play a critical part in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our store, ensuring a positive and welcoming environment for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the store, including sweeping, mopping, and dusting, as well as restocking shelves and facing merchandise.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures, including setting up and breaking down displays and ensuring the store is ready for business.
  • Collaborate with other team members to achieve sales and customer service goals, providing support and assistance as needed.
  • Participate in inventory management, including receiving and stocking merchandise, and assisting with cycle counts and audits.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including assisting with special events and promotions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related field an asset.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a retail or customer service environment, preferably in a janitorial or maintenance role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers and colleagues.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of energy and enthusiasm.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Fluency in English and French an asset.

Work Environment

  • Unavoidable exposure to noise, dirt, dust, and vibration.
  • Required to adapt to temperature changes, working in coolers, freezers, and outside.
  • Providing service to several people or departments, working under many simultaneous deadlines.
  • May be required to wear cumbersome protective clothing or equipment.
  • Required to lift, carry, or handle heavy objects.
