Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Transitional Support Specialist to join our team at Women's Habitat of Etobicoke. As a key member of our outreach team, you will provide critical support to women and their dependents who have experienced abuse, helping them to develop a transitional plan to achieve independence and stability in their lives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess the needs of clients and review their options in the community to develop a comprehensive transitional plan.
  • Provide supportive counseling, outreach, and advocacy on behalf of individual women, ensuring they have access to necessary resources and services.
  • Assist clients in accessing services such as counseling, parental support, education upgrading, job training, income support resources, legal aid, and health services.
  • Work collaboratively with the outreach team to ensure seamless delivery of services and support to clients.
  • Participate in community meetings and events to promote Women's Habitat's mission and services.
Requirements
  • Diploma or degree in Social Work or a related field.
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques, community resources, and harm reduction principles.
  • Sensitivity and awareness of cultural, racial, economic, and socially diverse communities.
  • Ability to administer Naloxone and provide harm reduction supports.
  • Second language an asset.
