As a dynamic organization, Fix Network is seeking a Senior Accountant who can adeptly navigate the complexities of our financial landscape. The Senior Accountant will oversee the complete accounting process, which encompasses, but is not limited to, maintaining financial records, scrutinizing monthly financial reports, and generating comprehensive financial statements.
The Senior Accountant position offers a competitive salary range of $70K to $80K annuallyThis role is based in our Burnaby, BC office.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee full-cycle accounting, including journal entries and account reconciliations across various business segments.
- Maintain precise and thorough records of all financial and administrative operations.
- Develop, modify, and enhance internal reports for efficiency, alongside preparing external reports as required.
- Facilitate monthly billing processes for franchisees.
- Provide support for internal billing validation and follow-up procedures for new franchisees.
- Prepare and verify accounts payable and corporate credit card documentation.
- Manage payroll preparation and verification.
- Compile monthly tax returns for consumption.
- Create monthly dashboards to simplify financial data for operational decision-making and result monitoring.
- Conduct monthly account reconciliations, including intercompany account analysis, and collaborate with partners to resolve discrepancies.
- Assist in the preparation and distribution of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Perform variance analysis on monthly financial statements against budgeted figures; identify trends and concerns.
- Support the budgeting and forecasting process by calculating revenue and expenses.
- Conduct ad hoc analyses and develop reports for senior management.
- Maintain year-end documentation and assist in the preparation for independent audits.
- Prepare working papers and schedules for annual audits and year-end tax submissions.
- Help maintain policies and procedures related to intricate financial and accounting issues.
- Implement new processes to enhance the Finance department's efficiency.
- Undertake other related responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Proficient in English (both written and spoken); proficiency in French is an asset.
- CPA student status is a plus.
- 3-5 years of experience in business accounting.
- Experience with multiple currencies is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Business Central 365 is a plus.
- Knowledge of Prophix is beneficial.
- Experience in the franchising sector is a plus.
- Strong understanding of the complete accounting cycle.
- Excellent computer skills and a solid grasp of accounting software.
- Proficient in the Microsoft suite (Word, Outlook, PPT) with advanced Excel skills.
