Your Opportunity

Our Montreal office is looking for a Mergers and Acquisitions Analyst to join the Financial Advisory Services team and own the following responsibilities:

  1. Support various business development initiatives including pitches, proposals and presentations;
  2. Perform market, industry and company research;
  3. Prepare financial models and preliminary company valuations;
  4. Perform various in-depth financial analyses on companies including analyzing and understanding the sustainability of earnings and cash flows, operating working capital requirements and key drivers of financial performance;
  5. Prepare lists of potential acquisition targets, buyers and/or investors;
  6. Communicate directly with various transaction counterparties including the client, target, potential buyers, other advisors and lenders;
  7. Assist in the preparation of professional transaction documents such as teasers and confidential information memorandums;
  8. Assist, from time to time and based on needs, other transaction-related service lines (e.g. financial due diligence, valuation).

Requirements

  1. Willing to pursue one or more graduate level relevant professional designation(s), e.g. CPA, CBV, CFA, MBA, MSc.;
  2. 0 to 2 years of experience;
  3. Highly motivated, positive and solution-oriented, autonomous, detail-oriented and able to work under pressure;
  4. Strong business acumen and analytical skills;
  5. Excellent written and oral communications skills;
  6. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Word);
  7. Experience with VBAs, Macros, Power Pivot, Power Query, Power BI, Capital IQ and Bloomberg is an asset;
  8. Willing to work outside normal business hours when required.
