We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Driver Operations Manager to join our team at American Iron and Metal. As a key member of our transportation department, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our fleet of vehicles.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising and leading a team of drivers to ensure peak performance and adherence to company safety protocols
  • Providing guidance, coaching, and support to drivers to enhance their skills and knowledge
  • Conducting regular assessments of driver performance and implementing strategies to improve efficiency and safety
  • Collaborating with dispatchers and other stakeholders to ensure prompt and reliable service delivery
  • Developing and implementing effective transportation strategies to meet operational targets and client needs
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant transportation regulations and company policies
  • Maintaining accurate records and generating reports on driver activities and performance

Key qualifications for this role include:

  • At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory position, preferably in the transportation or logistics industry
  • Over 5 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or a related field
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proven track record of making sound decisions under pressure
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and transportation management software
  • GEOTAB experience is an asset
  • Active driver's license with a clean record
