Position Overview

The Audiovisual Systems Specialist plays a crucial role in the setup and management of audiovisual systems for events of varying scales, ensuring exceptional client satisfaction. This role is accountable to a Project Manager or Operations Director.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Management


• Guarantees a seamless event by executing precise and timely setup, operation, and dismantling of sophisticated audiovisual equipment as specified in the technical requirements.


• Diagnoses technical challenges and swiftly resolves issues as they emerge.


• Adheres to all company security and safety protocols.


• Safeguards equipment against theft and damage during usage.

Client Engagement


• Delivers outstanding service and aims to surpass the expectations of both internal and external clients.


• Cultivates positive relationships with clients through effective communication.


• Collaborates with the internal team on event solutions before and during the event to ensure optimal client satisfaction.


• Understands and nurtures the relationship with the hotel or client.

Staff Development


• Fosters an environment that encourages the growth of technical and leadership skills among colleagues.


• Provides guidance and mentorship to team members in technical, sales, and operations to enhance their skills as necessary.


• Develops expertise in their specific area of specialization.


• Remains updated with technological advancements and industry trends.

Event Oversight


• Engages in advanced tasks (pre/during/post event) alongside operations team members.


• Supervises and directs fellow technicians throughout the event.

Equipment Care


• Assists the team with the secure handling, storage, transportation, and upkeep of equipment.


• Conducts inventory checks and anticipates equipment requirements.

Qualifications


• A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.


• A minimum of 3 years of experience in event technology, specializing in Audio, Lighting, Projection, or Video is required.


• 3-4 years of experience in customer service or hospitality is preferred.


• Internal team members must fulfill all training prerequisites to qualify for this position.


• Certification in Technical 1-Star, Professional 200, and one Technical Level 300 in A/P/V/L is required, with experience validated by a DPM or higher.


• New team members must complete all training requirements within 60 days of their hire date.


• Ability to interact professionally and effectively with a diverse workforce, clientele, and senior management.


• Strong interpersonal skills with clients and colleagues.


• A valid driver's license is necessary for roles that may involve operating company vehicles.


• Additional DOT requirements may apply if relevant.


• Must be capable of lifting 50 lbs.

Work Environment

The role is conducted in a hotel or convention center setting, with moderate exposure to outdoor elements and varying noise levels. Team members will utilize high-end audiovisual equipment and may work at heights using lifts and ladders. Irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, may be required.

Additionally, work may occur in a warehouse environment, adhering to specific appearance guidelines. The warehouse setting may also involve exposure to outdoor temperatures and dust.
