We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide respiratory care and education to patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in respiratory therapy, with experience in patient assessment, treatment planning, and education. You will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care and support.
About YouWe are looking for a candidate who possesses the following qualifications and skills:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Respiratory Therapy and current licensure with the Nova Scotia College of Respiratory Therapists
- Successful completion of the Canadian Board of Respiratory Care Exams
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification
- Current certification in BCLS
- Proof of completion of an approved COPD Educators program (CRE) or equivalent
- A minimum of two years of experience in Respiratory Therapy, preferably in a case management or care coordinator role
- Clinical experience in a relevant practice area, such as respiratory clinic, community-based care, or chronic disease management
- Ability to prioritize, problem-solve, and work under patient caseload time limitations
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as a team player
- Competencies in other languages, particularly French, would be an asset
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and videoconferencing
- Experience with virtual care and willingness to integrate it into practice
- Able to work flexibly from an office, home, or community setting to provide both in-person and virtual care
- Access to a reliable vehicle and valid Nova Scotia Driver's license, as regular travel is required for clinical visits
This is a permanent, part-time position with 37.5 hours bi-weekly. The hourly rate is $40.66.
