About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing respiratory care to patients, families, and caregivers. Your expertise will be essential in managing respiratory disorders and collaborating with healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong educational background in respiratory therapy, with a focus on COPD education and management. You will also require advanced skills in patient assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning. Your ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams will be crucial in delivering exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide respiratory care to patients, including COPD education and management
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care
  • Assess and diagnose respiratory disorders
  • Develop and implement treatment plans
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Respiratory Therapy
  • Current licensure with the Nova Scotia College of Respiratory Therapists
  • Successful completion of the Canadian Board of Respiratory Care Exams
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification
  • Current certification in BCLS
  • Proof of completion of an approved COPD Educators program (CRE) or equivalent
  • A minimum of two years experience in Respiratory Therapy
