Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Palliative Care Nurse Consultant to join our team at Northern Health Authority. As a key member of our Hospice Palliative Care Consultation Team, you will provide expert clinical guidance and support to primary care providers across various care settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish relationships with key stakeholders in your assigned Health Service Delivery Area to promote palliative care best practices.
  • Develop and implement education programs to enhance capacity across the continuum of care.
  • Provide consultative services on complex pain, symptom, and psychosocial issues for patients registered with our NH HPC Program.
  • Lead the development of policies, procedures, and education needs related to the NH HPC Program.
Requirements
  • Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant.
  • Minimum two years of full-time experience in palliative care nursing with a focus on pain and symptom management.
  • Certificate of specialized training in palliative care or post-basic palliative care nursing courses.
  • Two years of demonstrated teaching experience for a range of healthcare providers.
