Job Summary

The Business Clerk position at Hamilton Health Sciences is a dynamic role that requires a detail-oriented and organized individual to provide administrative support to patients, families, and healthcare teams. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our business functions, including clerical, administrative, and business support tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date records and files
  • Perform various administrative tasks, including data entry, mail distribution, and supply management
  • Assist with budgeting and financial planning
  • Develop and maintain effective communication with various hospital departments
  • Ensure confidentiality and maintain the integrity of sensitive information
Requirements
  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Graduate of a community college secretarial or office administration program or equivalent
  • Medical Terminology Certificate 1 and 2 or demonstrated knowledge equivalent
  • Keyboarding 40 wpm
  • Proficiency in using computer software, including clinic systems, MS Office, MS Access, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Exchange, and MS PowerPoint
  • Mathematical skills related to payroll, budget, and statistical documents
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, public relations, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to set priorities and organize work accordingly
  • Ability to deal with various hospital departments effectively and collaboratively
  • Ability to appreciate the confidential nature of the position
  • Ability to sit for long periods, repetitive reaching, and repetitive bending
