Job Title: Educational Support Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Educational Support Specialist to join our team at District School Board Ontario North East. As an Educational Support Specialist, you will provide support to students, teachers, and staff in a variety of educational settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide educational support to students with diverse needs, including those with special needs, English language learners, and students who require additional academic support.
  • Assist teachers with lesson planning, implementation, and assessment.
  • Support the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and community partners to provide a comprehensive and inclusive educational experience for all students.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in educational support.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in a related field, such as education, child and youth care, or a related field.
  • Experience working with students with diverse needs, including those with special needs, English language learners, and students who require additional academic support.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, staff, and community partners.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of organization and time management skills.
