Occupational Therapist

We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our Mental Health Services team. As an Occupational Therapist, you will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide evidence-based and recovery-based practice to clients with mental health and wellness concerns.
Key responsibilities include assessing client needs, developing and implementing care plans, and evaluating client progress. You will also be required to collaborate with community partners and organizations to provide holistic, client-centered care.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in occupational therapy, with experience working with individuals with mental health and/or concurrent substance abuse disorders. A certificate in Psycho-Social Rehabilitation in Practice is an asset, as is the ability to operate word processing applications, electronic mail, spreadsheets, and the internet.

About You- Successful completion of a Masters or Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy
- Registration (or eligibility) with the College of Occupational Therapists Nova Scotia (COTNS)
- Experience working with individuals with mental health and/or concurrent substance abuse disorders an asset
- Certificate in Psycho-Social Rehabilitation in Practice or willingness to obtain within one year of hire
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, CPR, First Aid, and WHMIS or willingness to obtain
- Demonstrated flexibility in utilizing professional skill sets in a variety of service delivery models and settings
- Ability to use a client-centered approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of and ability to operate word processing applications, electronic mail, spreadsheets, and the internet
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work independently and be accountable for all actions and decisions
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
