Surgical Suite Registered Nurse

As a member of a multidisciplinary team, the experienced peri-operative RN has focused skills in a variety of services, including Urology, General Surgery, Thoracic, Plastic/Oral Maxiofacial Surgery, Neurosurgery, and Orthopedics. Both scheduled and unscheduled surgeries are performed, requiring the incumbent to work on-call shifts. The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care during the peri-operative patient experience, in accordance with hospital policies and standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide leadership in clinical practice through management of patient care
- Anticipate patient needs, ensuring equipment and supplies are available for required cases
- Assume responsibility and act as a resource for staff skill development and support
- Contribute to quality initiatives and promote a professional work environment
- Completion of an accredited nursing education program
- Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP)
- Peri-operative Certificate from an approved school of nursing (preferred)
- Previous operating room experience
- Canadian Nursing Association (CNA) Certification in Peri-operative Nursing
