Job Summary

Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is seeking a highly experienced and innovative healthcare executive to fill the role of Vice-President, Clinical Quality and Safety. Reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer, this individual will lead the organization's strategy and direction for clinical services in the areas of quality and patient safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the overall quality of patient care, operational efficiency, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Establish sustainable, innovative, and integrated quality management systems.
  • Lead the transformation of VCH's quality initiatives from a focus on assurance and accreditation to a proactive approach centered around continuous quality improvement (CQI).
  • Oversee a portfolio that includes multiple programs, a $14m budget, and over 80 team members.
  • Provide leadership to various VCH Advisory committees and lead VCH Steering Committees in the areas of Patient Safety, Clinical Quality, and Accreditation.
Requirements
  • Master's level preparation in Health, Business Administration, or related health discipline, with fifteen (15) years' clinical practice and senior leadership experience.
  • Experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating service delivery systems, including acute, community, and primary care.
  • Experience leading major service integration and change, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Certification in a recognized quality improvement program, such as Six Sigma, Lean, or CPHQ, is preferred.
