Job Overview

The MRO Planning Manager role is a key position within our Business Development department, reporting directly to the Senior Manager Business Development. As a critical member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and delivering accurate, competitively priced estimates, collaborating with stakeholders to improve labor estimates and pre-planning processes, and overseeing the BD Estimating and BD Pre-Planning teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and estimate maintenance projects, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of estimates to customers.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and improve labor estimates and pre-planning processes, ensuring seamless execution of projects.
  • Oversee the BD Estimating and BD Pre-Planning teams, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Act as a communication link between customers and internal stakeholders, ensuring timely and effective communication.
  • Identify and communicate potential issues to schedules for resolution, ensuring project timelines are met.
  • Set priorities for pre-planning projects and ensure accomplishment of tasks, ensuring efficient project execution.
  • Ensure accurate and timely package handover to applicable Hangar teams, ensuring seamless project delivery.
  • Support communication and sharing of work packages and data between BD and internal departments, ensuring effective collaboration.

Customer Relations Management

  • Act as the focal point for all maintenance customer requirements, ensuring timely and effective communication.
  • Ensure continuity and timely customer service, building strong relationships with customers.
  • Act as a communication link between customers and internal stakeholders, ensuring seamless communication.
  • Attend stakeholder review meetings as required, ensuring effective collaboration.
  • Develop a network of customers for the pursuit of future work, identifying opportunities for growth.
  • Maintain relationships with customers to generate industry intelligence and inform KF Aerospace pursuit strategies, ensuring informed business decisions.

Maintenance Schedule

  • Responsible for the master third-party maintenance schedule, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
  • Maintain the Capacity Planning schedule, working with stakeholders to ensure availability of maintenance slots, hangar space, manpower, and other resources.
  • Ensure efficient hangar loading, taking into consideration ground time, labor capacity, tooling, and other required services.

People Management

  • Manage and control human resources required to execute work, ensuring effective project delivery.
  • Responsible to ensure employee development and provides feedback and mentorship, fostering a positive work environment.
  • Provides daily troubleshooting and problem-solving, ensuring effective issue resolution.
  • Completes Performance Management processes and related pay increases, ensuring fair and equitable treatment of employees.
  • Manages timekeeping, including monitoring vacation requests and attendance, addressing any issues as required.

Continuous Improvement

  • Develop data analysis tools to improve system efficiency, ensuring effective process improvement.
  • Manage the planning database and ensure frequent and timely updates, ensuring accurate and reliable data.
  • Build and maintain templates for common project planning tools, ensuring consistency and efficiency.
  • Standardize and maintain the bidding process, ensuring effective and efficient project delivery.
  • Communicate and present customer feedback internally, ensuring informed business decisions.
  • Develop a collaborative environment with Maintenance Operations to improve the customer experience, ensuring exceptional results.
  • Contribute to post-RFP submission reviews to improve process for future inputs, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Improve future quotes, ensuring accurate and competitive pricing.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years in a planning and estimating function in aircraft heavy maintenance.
  • Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer with minimum 15 years' experience preferred.
  • A strong understanding of manhours vs skill set (workforce composition).
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • A strong understanding of operational processes and procedures.
  • Proven project management skills, with the ability to identify any potential delays and high-risk areas to projects.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Excellent prioritizing and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent research and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of all Maintenance Manuals, AD's, and SB's.
  • In-depth knowledge of Aircraft Technical Documents and Parts.
  • Proficient use of Lawson M3, My Boeing Fleet, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and detail.
  • Flexible and adaptable.
