About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Claims Specialist to join our team at AXIS Capital. As a Claims Specialist, you will play a critical role in managing and resolving complex insurance claims, ensuring that our clients receive the best possible service and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze liability and damages issues in connection with primary and excess claims, maintaining accurate documentation and records.
  • Examine insurance coverage issues, draft coverage letters, and communicate positions to insureds and brokers.
  • Manage external adjusters and counsel, collaborating with insureds to defend and resolve claims.
  • Negotiate settlements and evaluate the full pending of claims, ensuring accurate reserves are maintained.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with brokers, risk managers, general counsels, and vendors.
  • Provide data and analytical support to underwriters, informing marketing efforts, policy wording, and trending discussions.
  • Oversee and supervise TPA adjusters on behalf of AXIS, ensuring prompt payment of losses and vendor invoices.
Requirements
  • Previous experience handling claims, litigation, or related experience in a legal or multiline insurance environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, interact with others, meet deadlines, and perform in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Great attention to detail, an open mind, and a penchant for customer service.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Law degree or CIP designation.
  • French language abilities.
