Role Overview
As part of a cross-functional team, the Sr. Manager Product Development, Marketing plays a vital role in driving innovation within the Tim Hortons Food portfolio. This individual is responsible for overseeing all stages of new product development, from initial concept to market launch.
Responsibilities- Lead the end-to-end commercialization of new product innovations and initiatives (working with internal teams and co-manufacturers) across various areas such as new platform development, limited-time offers (LTOs), quality enhancements, and cost improvements.
- Spearhead the development, testing, and evaluation of new ingredients, ensuring they meet stringent quality standards.
- Create detailed ingredient product specifications within our internal systems.
- Conduct external consumer sensory research to gather valuable insights and provide recommendations to leadership.
- Collaborate closely with multiple cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project transitions from initiation to launch, adhering to key timelines.
- Participate in plant trials and provide on-site support during product launches.
- Work diligently with cross-functional teams to guarantee product quality, compliance with Canadian regulations and specifications.
- Attend existing and new ingredient evaluations at test laboratories to confirm all ingredient parameters meet established specifications.
- Collaborate closely with the Procurement team to ensure ingredient pricing aligns with set targets.
- Manage and mentor a team of two talented individuals.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Product Development within the Food Science field, holding a BSc or MSc degree.
- Proven track record in Product Development within food production/manufacturing environments – ideally with experience in the quick service restaurant (QSR) industry.
- Strong sensory evaluation skills and a passion for food innovation.
- Results-driven, self-motivated individual with a genuine enthusiasm for championing new ideas and refining existing processes.
- Comprehensive understanding of plant processes, equipment functionality, ingredient properties, and relevant food regulations.
- Ability to build and maintain strong collaborative working relationships with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
