Within our Consulting practice, the Defined Benefits and Actuarial Services team comprises a dedicated group of professionals with extensive experience in pension & savings and actuarial consulting. We focus on delivering strategic insights, expert analysis, and effective risk management to assist our clients in providing optimal pension plans for their members. Our team excels in evaluating and quantifying risks within the retirement landscape, leveraging a deep understanding of complex mathematical models and statistical analysis.

As a Consultant in our Consulting practice, you will be passionate about identifying client needs and utilizing your expertise to address their challenges while fostering strong relationships. As a vital member of your client teams, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality work tailored to client specifications. You will cultivate robust relationships with both external and internal clients, embracing new opportunities with the support and guidance of experienced colleagues, while also mentoring junior staff. Your attention to detail, project management skills, and expertise will be crucial in achieving our mission to create a brighter future for our clients and their workforce.
Key Responsibilities...
- Client Relationship Management: Build and sustain strong relationships with clients; serve as a trusted advisor, understanding their needs and providing customized solutions.
- Actuarial Consulting Services: Evaluate the financial health of defined benefit pension plans, review pension benefits, and offer strategic recommendations for plan design and restructuring. This includes actuarial valuations for funding or accounting purposes, risk management, cost assessments, regulatory compliance, employee education, and plan administration, contributing to the long-term sustainability of client plans.
- Team Leadership: Foster team engagement by mentoring, training, and providing technical expertise to junior team members, promoting their professional growth. Oversee project delivery, ensuring high-quality outcomes and adherence to timelines and budgets.
Qualifications...
- 6 to 10 years of experience in pension plan consulting.
- Professional actuarial designation such as FCIA, ASA, or FSA, or in the process of obtaining it.
- Familiarity with various pension schemes and actuarial standards of practice, including pension plan evaluation, financial projections, risk assessment, and regulatory requirements.
- Proven ability to cultivate and maintain client relationships.
- Collaborative mindset, supporting the growth and mentorship of junior team members.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to meet performance targets within a practice area.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in French (English proficiency is an added advantage).
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
