We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mortgage Underwriter to join our team at Radius Financial. As a Senior Mortgage Underwriter, you will play a critical role in reviewing mortgage applications, negotiating terms with mortgage brokers, and ensuring compliance with established guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze mortgage applications, including supporting documentation, to ensure compliance with lending guidelines and regulations.
- Negotiate terms with mortgage brokers to ensure efficient closing of mortgage files.
- Provide underwriting expertise to mortgage brokers, clients, and co-workers, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of CMHC, Sagen, and Canada Guaranty Mortgage Insurance Company policies, procedures, and products.
- Ensure that approved deals close as scheduled and as efficiently as possible by following up on outstanding conditions/documents.
- Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders, including mortgage brokers and clients.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3+ years' experience in Prime Mortgage Underwriting with a Lender in Canada.
- Extensive experience and knowledge required in CMHC, Sagen, and Canada Guaranty mortgage insurance products.
- Ability to underwrite high volumes of mortgages ($ million annually).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
